Interreg online-conference from green screen studio

Mediehuset København facilitates Wallen Media (Sweden) with green screen studio production and live streaming. The end client is Greater Copenhagen, who wants to hold an online conference in connection with an EU Interreg project entitled “A coherent transport system in Greater Copenhagen”. The online conference serves as a kind of co-broadcast we know from live TV productions where live broadcasts across countries.

Background

The main objective of the project is to promote mobility and availability in Greater Copenhagen through sustainable modes of transport and to strengthen the region as a hub in trans-European transport networks Ten-T.

A coherent transport system creates the conditions for increased accessibility throughout Greater Copenhagen. Not only to the urban transport hubs Copenhagen and Malmö, but also to secondary and tertiary parts of the region. For this to be possible, cross-border efforts by several parties are required. The aim of this project is therefore to create a common decision-making basis and cooperation forums where cross-border knowledge about sustainable infrastructure can be exchanged.

Remote Production for Siemens

We are preparing for Remote Production for our customer Siemens. In the picture you see our crew, who are stand-in for the keynote speaker. The recording format will be in the 9:16 aspect ratio (portrait format), and will be LIVE-merged with 2 other remote locations (3 locations on Earth in total) – and together the 3 live recordings will form a 16: 9 aspect ratio (landscape format). Together with a digital backdrop (Virtual Set), the illusion will be that they are in the same room (same location).

Technical requirements for the recording

Resolution/framerate: UHD and more Frame rate: 25 or 50 fps
File format: MOV PRO RES 444 or DNxHD
Color space: 10Bit – sRGB
Camera: 2 x 4K, 18-105 and 24-70mm lenses, min. 2/3-frame size
Fiber Internet Connection with 300/300 up/down
Video Interface: HD-SDI and HDMI to HD-SDI
Teleprompter

Communication during production

Communication with speakers via in-ear – no sound in the studio
Teleprompter/Autocue: Two/Three locations: Camera + side screens. Can be split screen as well
Using of Zoom as communication plattform during recordings

Requirements for light and sound

Microphones: Same model or system should be synced. Recordings levelled at -3dB
Delivery of individual audio tracks for subsequent professional audio engineering
Provision of in-ear microphones for all speakers
Synchronize recordings: to start the recordings synchronized

Rehearsal

The greenscreen studio is required for 1 day for production and 1 day for the technical trial.
A technical rehearsal scheduled for the day before the recordings. Planning eight hours for the rehearsal.
Providing approx. 10 sec. footage in RAW from the studio in advance for post-edit-test.
Providing stand-in speaker for full technical rehearsal. incl. autocue (teleprompter), PPT, Audio etc.

Profile video for executive search company Amrop

Amrop, the leading company when it comes to international executive search, have asked Mediehuset København (Media House Copenhagen) to record and produce a video during their company conference in Copenhagen.

Format: Corporate presentation, profile video
Purpose: Objective – show the added value and experience of belonging to the Amrop Partnership Feeling: INTERNATIONAL AGILITY, CONNECTIVITY

Description

Show Amrop partners in action arriving and interacting, at a key global Amrop event.
Zoom in on 7 Partners as channels to embody key PVP aspects of the partnership – e.g. entrepreneurial, caring, enriched, community, trust and bonds. These aspects will be harvested from the 7 Partners and built into a narrative. We can add indicators that are missing from that pre-work that we deem important.

The storyboard supplied by the client as a basis for this quote is designed to accommodate whatever emerges. Show a diverse and connected group (gender, race, age) = local presence also.

Format and content

Lively, vivacious, attention grabbing, short (3 minutes max)
Agile way of shooting, no queuing outside filming room
The 7 participants are filmed in one go over 45-60 minutes.

Storyboard

Establishing shots showing Amrop Partners connecting in different parts of the world, in different ways.

Some stock footage, some clips from existing Amrop videos Banners in back ground.
As the footage plays, we see pop ups of WhatsApp messages from Amrop people, as well as ticker tape text moving along the screen announcing their arrivals in ‘FBI adventure movie’ style.
We move into the hotel itself, zooming in on 7 key participants in action.
Next we zoom in on each of the 7 key partners in action one after the other, on iPhone, using laptop and getting coffee. Each individual sequence closes with a closeup of the partner smiling confidently, face to camera. They do not need to be recorded speaking, instead…
…each sequence accompanied by a professional voiceover – narrating key aspects of the Partner experience of Amrop. Throughout the narrative, we see pop ups of key words, over the footage of the key Partners.

Each Partner sequence is also accompanied by a ticker tape text with their job title and a one liner of and what they have achieved since joining. Next, we move to time lapse footage of other participants in the coffee station area, interacting with each other. Then a final animated infographic summarizing ‘Leaders For What’s Next’ – Amrop’s Value Proposition. Subliminal message – join Amrop as a Partner.

Venue: Auditorium, Lykkebækvej 1, 4600 Køge

Technology: 3-camera video production, live streaming equipment, existing audio and light from the auditorium. PowerPoint is transferred digitally in split screen.
It should be emphasized that a robotic camera has NOT been used as it weakens the important nerve and the sense of presence.
