Our client, the American production company Next Millennium Production (NMP), served as the technical facilitator for a multinational investor meeting for Hines’ investors and stakeholders. The physical portion of the event took place at Moltke’s Palace in central Copenhagen, where Mediehuset København (Media House Copenhagen) acted as the local Danish subcontractor for NMP, providing production facilities for remote production. This allowed NMP to remotely control and guide Mediehuset’s crew, equipment, as well as Hines’ moderators and keynote speakers. A parallel setup provided video-link capabilities. In addition to live streaming, selected 4K camera footage was also recorded and uploaded to NMP for post-production.

Background on the video production

Hines is a privately owned global company specializing in real estate investment, development, and management, founded in 1957. The company operates in 395 cities across 30 countries and has a portfolio of investment properties valued at $95.79 billion. Hines holds an annual investor meeting.

Next Millennium Production is a media production company based in New York, USA. The company facilitates (in general, visual digital productions) hybrid events for Hines.

Mediehuset København is a media production company that has been serving as a subcontractor for foreign production companies since 1993, catering to international clients. Danish subcontractor for NMP.

The production will take place in the green screen studio, with a digital backdrop featuring the Copenhagen skyline. The occasion is the participation of Lykke Friis, the Director of Think Tank Europe, in a live debate broadcast on the German TV channel on June 1st.

Interreg online-conference from green screen studio

Mediehuset København facilitates Wallen Media (Sweden) with green screen studio production and live streaming. The end client is Greater Copenhagen, who wants to hold an online conference in connection with an EU Interreg project entitled “A coherent transport system in Greater Copenhagen”. The online conference serves as a kind of co-broadcast we know from live TV productions where live broadcasts across countries.

Background

The main objective of the project is to promote mobility and availability in Greater Copenhagen through sustainable modes of transport and to strengthen the region as a hub in trans-European transport networks Ten-T.

A coherent transport system creates the conditions for increased accessibility throughout Greater Copenhagen. Not only to the urban transport hubs Copenhagen and Malmö, but also to secondary and tertiary parts of the region. For this to be possible, cross-border efforts by several parties are required. The aim of this project is therefore to create a common decision-making basis and cooperation forums where cross-border knowledge about sustainable infrastructure can be exchanged.

Remote Production for Siemens

We are preparing for Remote Production for our customer Siemens. In the picture you see our crew, who are stand-in for the keynote speaker. The recording format will be in the 9:16 aspect ratio (portrait format), and will be LIVE-merged with 2 other remote locations (3 locations on Earth in total) – and together the 3 live recordings will form a 16: 9 aspect ratio (landscape format). Together with a digital backdrop (Virtual Set), the illusion will be that they are in the same room (same location).

Technical requirements for the recording

Resolution/framerate: UHD and more Frame rate: 25 or 50 fps
File format: MOV PRO RES 444 or DNxHD
Color space: 10Bit – sRGB
Camera: 2 x 4K, 18-105 and 24-70mm lenses, min. 2/3-frame size
Fiber Internet Connection with 300/300 up/down
Video Interface: HD-SDI and HDMI to HD-SDI
Teleprompter

Communication during production

Communication with speakers via in-ear – no sound in the studio
Teleprompter/Autocue: Two/Three locations: Camera + side screens. Can be split screen as well
Using of Zoom as communication plattform during recordings

Requirements for light and sound

Microphones: Same model or system should be synced. Recordings levelled at -3dB
Delivery of individual audio tracks for subsequent professional audio engineering
Provision of in-ear microphones for all speakers
Synchronize recordings: to start the recordings synchronized

Rehearsal

The greenscreen studio is required for 1 day for production and 1 day for the technical trial.
A technical rehearsal scheduled for the day before the recordings. Planning eight hours for the rehearsal.
Providing approx. 10 sec. footage in RAW from the studio in advance for post-edit-test.
Providing stand-in speaker for full technical rehearsal. incl. autocue (teleprompter), PPT, Audio etc.
